New kitchen toys…

Postman just delivered these: aren’t they cute?

And last week, I also got a new rice scoop:

Close up: I think it has ‘personality’, this rice squirrel 🙂

(Plus practical, once you scoop the rice, the ‘used’ tail/paddle is kept off from the table)

  1. I have chopstick rests that are very similar except they are red and blue and I love them! I’ve never seen a rice scoop like that though. So cute! You find some really great bento accessories. 🙂

  2. they are really nice. i too collect chopstick rests, as i collect many chopsticks. but only some. because i rarely bother to use one whenever i eat with chopsticks. i tend to just rest the chopsticks on the rim of the bowl.

    • I often forget to use them as well but I should. Am trying to find a place in my kitchen where I can easily grab them. Don’t want to have them just lying around in a drawer (plus they get daged to easily if bumping around with other cutlery)

      • very true. mine are mostly wooden ones, some ceramic ones, and some coral ones i collected at the beach from travels.

          • oh gosh. this would mean that i would have to take the dusty boxes out from the top cabinet. open the seals. search for those said items. then repackage them when i’m done taking pics. sigh… so much work 😦

          • Oh sorry, of course I didn’t meant to cause you lots of work :-), but if for whatever reason you might one day decide to unpack one or two…than a pics might be nice 😉

          • i would certainly consider doing that. though maybe not in the near future. i fear that by doing this, it would be a rude reminder to myself that i have overspent on these items and should not collect more, which would be a devastating realization. at least this way, out of sight out of mind 🙂
